RECEIVING HOLY COMMUNION

As Catholics, we believe the Holy Eucharist is the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Receiving Holy Communion expresses this faith and our communion with the Church. Practising Catholics who are free from grave sin and have observed the one‑hour fast may receive.

Communion may be received on the tongue or in the hand, and must be consumed immediately in front of the minister. (If receiving in the hand, please place one flat hand over the other as a throne for the Lord.)

If you belong to another Christian community, another faith, or none, you are welcome to come forward for a blessing instead. Please indicate this by crossing your arms over your chest.

If you require a low‑gluten host, please ask the priest or the minister of Holy Communion when you approach the altar or before the mass.
